As many of you may have heard, GPT o1 is being slowely released. This model is apparently capable of writing and acting “like a human” in ways we wouldn’t have thought were possible in 2024.

With this release comes many responsibilities. Many AI fanatics will recall twitter’s AI fail, especially with the constant abuse. Similarly to how a child can learn abusive behaviors from an abusive childhood, twitter’s AI would learn from users posts to learn how they talked. This eventually led up to many people abusing it, making it learn things that NOBODY should ever learn!

1 day later, the AI will have been taken down due to “Unacceptable, horrendous behavior”. This had included, but was not limited to behaviors such as (Racial Discrimination, Slurs, Offensive Posts, Threats, and even Personal Attacks).

Now, GPT o1 should be fool-proof in certain ways to prevent something like this from ever happening again, but we all know that AI, and generally every other program or process will never be completely safe from events like this, however GPT has added some extra features to protect this.

As we all know, asking GPT an offensive or inappropriate question will give you that infamous “This message contains offensive/blocked content” message from ChatGPT along with a warning that you could be suspended in some cases. With this implementation, we are all extremely excited about GPT o1 being released.

The fact of the matter is simply the case that there will be tons of backlash against ChatGPT for this, just as any other large company’s releases would have against them. The real question, however, is “Are we even ready for this?”. GPT has been advancing a lot, and giving people alot of power, but for some people, that power can do alot of harm. Especially with GPT now given the abilities to “think like a human”.

If you have any questions, or better yet answers, please share them in the comments. As always, I will see you in the next article!
